“It’s just basically, more and more of the city of Oneida wanting to bring the community together for the holidays. “We’re super excited to be able to bring this to people this year,” Acker said. The interior of the Kallet is going to be decorated “Whoville” style.Īfter last year’s annual tree lighting was reduced to a virtual affair, the grandness of 2021’s lineup is all the more special. Throughout the night, appearances by the Grinch, Santa, and Frosty the Snowman will be made.Īcker said he’s also got some projects cooking with the Oneida High School Tech and Art Departments. Here there will be arts and crafts for the kids hosted by Oneida Girl Scouts, storytime by Megan Gillander from the Oneida Public Library, and Christmas vendors, photobooth, music, and more. The fun carries on into the Kallet Theater from 7-9 p.m. Performers will set up in the windows at Oneida Office Supply, HipStir Cafe, Napoleons Cafe, and a few others. Bogardus Performing Arts Center will have “Live Windows” at several local businesses in their front windows/display cases to be seen from the street. That’s not the only performance set for the night.
